
Chris was a member of the original Off-Broadway Ensemble of Julie Taymor's "Juan Darien"; acted opposite Sean Penn In Terrence Malick's "Tree of Life" (I didn't say there was dialogue!); & was featured in the very first episode of Friday Night Lights. "Mr. P", a short film in which he plays the title role, was an official 2007 Selection at Cinevegas, SXSW, Rooftop NY, IFF of Boston, and Marfa Film Festival. He was also featured in Bob Byington's feature "Harmony & Me", in competition at this year's New Directors/New Works Festival at Lincoln Center, Cinevegas, and the Traverse City Film Fest hosted by Michael Moore.
Chris was received warmly in France when his short "Repetition with Variation" (dir Lisa Kaselak) was accepted into the 2006 official competition at the Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival. This festival is often called one of world's most important for international short film.
Chris has been acting onstage since 1984, his first year of summer stock at the Hampton Playhouse, Hampton, NH- now sadly a housing development called "Playhouse Drive".
He studied in NYC with Kevin O'Connor and Bill Esper.
Here in Austin, Chris won a local B. Iden Payne Outstanding Cast Performance Award for the Southwest regional premiere of Yasmin Reza's "Art"; he was also nominated for an Austin Critics Table Award (Best Actor in a Comedy) for this role. The Austin Chronicle has called him "..one of Austin's best actors".
Chris came to Austin by way of LA, NYC & Boston, where he was characterized by the Globe as "consistently on the author's wavelength". He is an Equity membership candidate and a SAG Taft-Hartley.
